Chainsaw carving based in
Somerset.
Matthew Crabb grew up in Exmoor national park situated in the
counties of Somerset and Devon. Exmoor is renowned for its wide
diversity of landscape, combining stunning coastline, windswept
moor land and dense woodlands. Living within such an area provides
endless inspiration for elemental shapes, movement and its huge
variety of wildlife, clearly reflected in his work.
Garden sculpture.
Chainsaw carving is a fantastic way of providing an impressive
yet affordable piece of solid wooden garden sculpture.
Really anything is possible, whether it be a depiction
of wildlife or a more contemporary wooden sculpture. Perhaps
a sea shell chainsaw carving for a coastal property or
maybe you are inspired by the elements and would like
me to create a dynamic representation of movement. I
am always happy to discuss any ideas for your ideal wooden
sculpture, feel free to contact me.
Chainsaw carving.
The use of a chainsaw for wood carving allows large amounts
of wood to be removed very quickly. As a chainsaw carver I use
a range of chainsaws allowing carvings from very large timber,
then progressing to smaller chainsaws for finer detailed sculpting.
Chainsaw carving can be done in any place that it is possible
to stand by the timber. For instance a very large chainsaw carving
can be achieved with the aid of a scaffolding tower, allowing
an entire tree to be sculpted rather than felled. You may decide
on a large feature chainsaw carving created from the trunk with
smaller accompanying sculptures carved from felled top sections
and branches.
Chainsaw Carving commissions.
I am very passionate about my work and so will consider any
ideas from you for a chainsaw carving big or small or even an
adapted idea from one of my current wood sculptures. Through
discussion we can decide on a chainsaw carving design from which
I will supply an accurate quotation. Chainsaw commission carvings
can be created at my studio and delivered or carved on site. |
